Cancellation policy:  If you cancel more than 30 days prior to your arrival date you will only be charged $100.  If less than 30 days but more than 3 days, you will be charged 50% of the rental fee.  If less than 3 days you will be charged the entire amount.

What to bring.  You will need to bring your own towels; beach towels and bath towels.  All other linens are provided. There are 2 queen sized beds. The Salon area can sleep 3 people.  Be prepared for all types of weather.  Even in warmer months it can get cold out on the ocean, so bring warm clothing, as well as swimming attire.  Bring a hat, sun screen, sun glasses, Dramamine, reading material, snorkel gear if you have a favorite set.  There is some snorkel gear on the boat.  Bring tennis shoes or rubber soled shoes.  It is normal to go barefoot on the boat.  Do not bring hard sole shoes or shoes with black soles.  Bring a waterproof wind breaker and layered clothing. Hard sided suit cases are not allowed, so bring a soft-sided duffle bag.  Storage space is very limited so please pack with this in mind.

What to expect.  There is 100 gallons of water storage on the boat.  We can replenish the water when we are in ports however between stops this water is for doing dishes and cleaning.  There are three showers on the boat and you can take showers but do not expect a long shower.  Military showers are recommended.  Rinse off, then soap up then rinse off.  Sailing on the open ocean is an adventure.  Typically the conditions range from relaxing to exciting.  It is very exciting when the wind is 25 knots and the boat is sailing along healed over at 20 degrees at about 7 knots (9 miles per hour).  These conditions are normal and the dream of all sailors.  When the wind picks up to 35-40 knots some people become nervous.  These conditions are still safe and are rare but it can happen.  The conditions can become slightly uncomfortable and difficult to move around on the boat but still safe. The boat is subjected to the marine environment which is very salty and these conditions can cause electrical wiring to break down and other equipment failure.  This is not uncommon and inconveniences can sometimes occur.  We make every effort to repair things immediately however this may not always be possible.  We do not typically refund all or part of your rental for these inconveniences.  If a refund is forthcoming, it would be solely up to the captains discretion. 

Sea sickness:  Most of the time the conditions in the Sea of Cortez are relatively calm.  The sail boat is very steady and sails nicely and stable.  However, at times the weather can be a bit rough.  We will do everything we can to make the ride more comfortable and put into safe sheltered anchorages and marinas at night where there is very little to no movement on the boat.  Dramamine usually works very well for those prone to sea sickness.  Refunds are not given if you become sea sick or if the weather gets rough.  Only when the weather becomes dangerous will you be offered a rain check.  Even then refunds are not given.

Provisions.  We can stock the boat with whatever food and beverages that you desire or,  you can stock the boat yourself. My fee for stocking the boat is actual cost plus 15%.  Alcohol is permitted but illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.  

Make out a check for at least 50% of rental amount if today is more than 30 days from rental date.  Make check out for 100% of rental if rental date is less than 30 days away.
